πŸ“ Stoughton United Methodist Church – 525 Lincoln Ave, Stoughton

This Halloween, our church will host a Trunk or Treat β€” a safe, family-friendly alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, right in our own parking lot.

What is Trunk or Treat?

Participants decorate the trunk of their car, park in the church lot, and hand out candy (or small prizes) to children who come by in costume. Instead of kids going door to door, they go car to car, enjoying festive decorations, fun conversations, and of course β€” plenty of treats!

Why do we do it?

  • πŸŽƒ To provide a safe, welcoming space for children and families in our community.

  • πŸ‘‹ To open our church doors to neighbors who may never have visited before.

  • πŸ’‘ To share joy, creativity, and hospitality in a season of fun.

How can you help?

We need:

  • Candy Donations – Bring candy on Sunday mornings to donate or drop off in the church office M-Th, 9am-1pm.

  • Trunk Hosts – Decorate your car trunk (as simple or creative as you like!) and bring candy to hand out.

  • Hospitality Helpers – Serve hot chocolate, cider, or refreshments inside.

  • Set-Up & Clean-Up Crew – Help us prepare the space before and after.

  • Greeters & Floaters – Welcome families, answer questions, refill candy, and keep things running smoothly.

What’s involved?

  • Arrive by 5:15 PM to park and set up your trunk.

  • Plan for 150–200 children (we’ll let you know if we need more candy donations).

  • Keep decorations family-friendly β€” fun and festive, not frightening.

  • Bring your own candy, or let us know if you need help with supplies.

This is a wonderful way to connect with our community and live out our call to share God’s love in creative, joyful ways.

πŸ‘‰ Sign up in the Welcome Center at the church or email the church office.
